Insurance for Counsellors in Australia is an very important part when setting up in private practice for yourself or when working for an employer in Counselling. Counselling in Australia is a unregulated field, and the responsibility for acquiring Professional Indemnity and Public Liability insurance rests on the shoulders of individuals who provide a Counselling service to ensure they are properly covered. We have made connections with a few insurance providers who can provide lower cost insurance, once the ACCA member based is large enough we should be able to negotiate better rates for members.
Many insurance providers won't have a problem with providing you with Insurance, however it is a good idea to shop around for the best coverage for the services you offer and of course price.
