Created in 2008 under the Not For Profit 'Community Reconciliation and Healing Australia Inc.' and recently amended to the 'Australian Community Counselling Association Inc.' (ACCA). The ACCA has come about because of the pivotal need for a truly independent Association that represents Counsellors from all walks of life and has a focus on Rural and Remote members  of Australia and the need for a 'Community Based' Association that represents the needs of its members within the Counselling industry.

 

ACCA Is a project of Community Reconciliation and Healing Australia Inc

The Australian Community Counselling Association ACCA is a not for profit association under the umbrella of Community Reconciliation and Healing Australia Inc. CRHA auspices projects which suport the needs of various interest groups whose aim is to bring healing and reconciliation to the Australian community. The association ACCA is dedicated to the support and encouragement of the practice of counselling. It exists for counsellors in practice and for those who are currently studying to be counsellors and in so doing supports individuals, families and communities in need of social, emotional and practical support through the practice of preventative mental health interventions - counselling.

Counsellors graduating from various counselling training insititutions in Australia and those with overseas qualifications seeking an association membership for support, upskilling, collaboration and direction in their counselling practice will enjoy the various benefits of belonging to ACCA.

At the point of inception ACCA has 3 distinct chapters.

  1. General Counselling
  2. Indigenous Counselling &
  3. Christian Counselling
